Vanuatu speaks more than a 100 languages

Visual communication to promote language diversity in Vanuatu. We are 250,000 people, on 83 islands, speaking approximately 140 languages. Add english, french and bislama (the official common language), Vanuatu has one of the highest rate of language per capita in the world.

This poster was originally made as a gift to a friend, then it got selected by the MINISTRY of EDUCATION and by the National COUNCIL of CHIEFS MALVATUMAURI to promote language diversity and in their own words “if Vanuatu was a person, this is what his brain would look like”. A great honor to have this work selected, coming from a foreigner into the most traditional institution of the country.
