What makes this visual storytelling campaign stand out is the way Mr. and Ms. Soap become accomplices to the viewer, reacting to the characters in the story and adding a light, humorous touch. Instead of simply telling people what to do, the campaign invites them to join in, finish the story, say what they think, or help the characters make choices. That participatory visual language makes the message feel engaging, memorable, and genuinely alive for the audience.

This is the result of great teamwork under the brillant guidance of Kristina Mitchell, WaSH specialist Piter Visser, Community facilitator and Communication expert Jeanine Shem.

The campaign supports community-led hygiene promotion through village clusters, with a balanced mix of male and female Village Hygiene Promoters selected to reflect the communities they serve. Their training covers key WASH knowledge, core responsibilities, and practical application. The work includes household visits, baseline data collection, monitoring, reporting, and the recognition of clean villages. Implementation is designed as a phased rollout, grounded in community engagement and close coordination with local leaders, while remaining flexible enough to work in both rural and peri-urban settings.

The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education have endorsed the campaign as both a facilitation tool and an educational resource.
